About Potomac
Potomac Sr. High School opened its doors in August 1979 in what is now the Ferlazzo Building to 425 ninth grade students. Each year the enrollment grew with each additional class culminating with the first graduating class in 1983. Potomac graduates have become medical professionals, lawyers, teachers, professional athletes, military professionals, and leaders in businesses in our area.
Originally built to serve southern Prince William County, today Potomac educates students from part of the Dumfries and Woodbridge magisterial districts. Our wonderful cultural diversity comes from serving this population.
