 Library Hours

Monday-Thursday:  7 a.m.- 3 p.m.; Friday 7 a.m.- 2 p.m.

The Library is open to all students before school, during lunch, and after school.  It is THE place to come for research, to type or print papers, to just sit and read newpapers, magazines, or books.

Philosophy:

Working cooperatively with teachers and staff, the Potomac Senior High School Library program strives to be an integral part of the school's total instructional program. It is designed to provide comprehensive support, instruction and materials to all students and staff. Librarians act as facilitators to provide individual guidance and formal instruction so students learn to access, evaluate, and use information from a variety of sources.

Our mission is to enable our clients to become independent and effective users of information.

Resources:

Students are also encouraged to use the Online Programs page provided by the library staff.

The Library contains resources selected to support the school's instructional program. It is a work in progress. Staff and students are welcome to offer suggestions for the purchase of additional resources and materials. To actively participate in the collection development, a suggestion box is located in the library for your convenience.

Many times the library will have more resources on some topics than another library depending upon its school curriculum focus. Students are encouraged to make a thorough search of resources in the library and to request assistance from a librarian before going elsewhere.
