The library staff is flexible and will try to accommodate special requests from teachers to ensure that students have sufficient library time for assigned class projects. Please check with the library staff to make certain that they are aware of your needs and interests.
Please do not assume that the library staff is conscious of what is going on in your class. Because librarians want the best possible research success for all students, teachers are encouraged to talk to one or both librarians before scheduling classes for library time. To fulfill the students' information needs, a brief planning session with a librarian is recommended in order to provide a focus for your students' library activities.
Librarians are familiar with the resources and can point classes in the right direction eliminating waste of valuable time on unproductive searches. Librarians will also provide subject bibliographies, pathfinders, reserve books for classes, introduce students to useful resources, teach necessary skills, team teach, and do book talks, to assist teachers in reaching SOL objectives.
