"A student asks, 'why take geography? What job will it get me?' My answer is that colleges and employers are impressed by applicants who have a good grasp of what is going on around them locally, nationally, and internationally. Geography can offer interesting employment opportunities in travel, tourism, and environmental protection or planning."
