This is my third year at Potomac Senior High School. I am the activities coordinator for the Senior class. I graduated from Roger Williams University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Creative Writing. I graduated from Long Island University at C.W. Post with a Master of Science in School Counseling. I am a member of Chi Sigma Iota, the Counseling Academic and Professional Honor Society, Prince William Educators Association, and the Amercian School Counselor Association.

Think you might need help paying for the course?
Revolution Prep provides scholarships to students who are unable to cover the full cost of the program and who are prepared to dedicate their time and effort to improving their test scores. No student has ever been turned away from a Revolution Prep program due to financial reasons.
If you are awarded a scholarship you must enroll over the phone. If you purchase a class on our website we cannot retroactively award a scholarship. Please call our office at 877.738.7737 for instructions on enrollment. You can fax your completed form to 323-328-1785.
Please note: The deadline for applications is two weeks before your course is scheduled to begin. If the application is not completed in its entirety you will not be considered for a scholarship.

Things to Do During Your Senior Year
Summer before Senior Year
v Visit colleges
v Begin organizing and writing essays
v Save your money for Senior Year activities! The following are estimates of some activities and their costs:

*The first 3 transcripts are free. The fee applies to each additional transcript requested. Transcripts are required for EACH college and scholarship a student applies to, as well as for NCAA eligibility. The final total will be due in June, before graduation.
September
v Be sure you have the courses and credits you need for graduation. Counselors are human too, and we do make mistakes! It’s your responsibility to make sure those mistakes are corrected!
v Register for the SAT, SAT Subject Test, and/or ACT tests that are required for the colleges you are applying to. Don’t wait too long as deadlines are often 4 to 6 weeks before the test date!
v Ask your teachers, counselors, employers, and others who know you well for letters of recommendation. The more time they have to write, the better the letter!
v Prepare you college applications and essays. Keep track of deadlines!
v Order your cap and gown!
October
v Students will begin meeting with their counselor individually to review their graduation requirements, credits, and post-graduation plans. Make sure that the information on your transcript is correct!
v Continue to work on college applications and deadlines, especially for EARLY DECISION and EARLY ACTION!
v Attend college fairs and open houses.
November
v Submit your college applications for Early Decision and Early Action. Many deadlines are November 1st or November 15th.
v Remind those that are writing your letters of recommendation of the deadlines you need to meet.

v Start looking for scholarships online and on the Scholarship Board in the School Counseling Office.
December
v Be aware that some deadlines for Regular Admission may be December 1st, December 15th, or January 1st. Make sure you mail your materials before Christmas!
v Any transcripts that need to be received by colleges by January 1st must be submitted to the school counseling office by DECEMBER 9th.
v All colleges you apply to will receive mid-year grades. Avoid senior slump!
January
v Submit the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) online as soon as possible after January 1st.
v Check for January and early February application deadlines.
v Sign up to attend the Adjusting to College Life seminar.
v Study for mid-terms. Remember these grades will be on your transcripts that are sent to the colleges you have applied to!

v Any applications that have not been submitted should be completed as soon as possible, if the deadline allows.
v Notify your counselor of all application results, including rejections and wait-list
v Scholarships! Scholarships! Scholarships! Search and apply! There are scholarships for everyone. Check on the scholarship board in the guidance department, Naviance, the school website, as well as other websites such as FastWeb.com and Scholarships.com.

v Make final decisions about colleges. Submit the necessary deposits, including housing!

ATTENTION STUDENT ATHLETES!
Amateurism questionnaire and final authorization signature must be completed after April 1st!
Remember to log back in to your account and finalize your amateurism questionnaire before you enroll in college. If you are beginning school in the fall semester (August), you will need to complete the amateurism questionnaire and sign the final authorization signature on or after April 1 prior to enrollment. If you are beginning school in the spring semester (January), you will need to complete the amateurism questionnaire and sign the final authorization signature on or after October 1 of the year prior to enrollment.
