The purpose of this communication is to convey information pertaining to Potomac’s new tardy policy, scheduled for implementation on January 28, 2009.  The goal of this policy is to reduce excessive classroom disruptions due to students’ tardiness to school as well as those that result from regular class changes.  The administrative team fully believes that this new policy will promote student academic success by providing a more stringent, “standards based” learning environment.

            Students tardy to school/class should report immediately to their first period class until 7:40 AM.  Students with excused tardy notes should report directly to the attendance office.  The attendance secretary will generate an excused tardy pass for the student to take to his/her first period class.  Any students arriving after 7:40 AM must report directly to the attendance office (with or without a note).
